TEXT-A-TIP PROGRAM

West Linn Community Task Force and West Linn Police Department have launched a new anonymous city-wide Text-A-Tip Program.  Report a crime using a text message on your cell phone.  Here is how to use this anonymous service:

In the “To” box of the text message, type 274637.  In the “Subject” box, type WLPD followed by your tip.  Within a minute, you will receive a text response with your alias.  This is just verification that your text has been received.  If the officer needs further information, he or she may contact you through text.  Remember, the officer does not know your identity or your location.
